A balanced diet is very important for every individual to work and lead a healthy life. A balanced diet must contain carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, mineral salts and fibre. 1) Eat at least three meals a day.: Try planning your meals for the week ahead. Your food should be balanced with an adequate proportion of nutrients. Skipping meals can affect your body growth and add weight. Each day you should be eating three meals and two snacks. It helps if you eat them at the same time each day.
2) Eat variety of food : A balanced diet will include a variety of different foods. Eating different types of food provides your body with all the nutrients required to stay healthy.
3) Don’t ban Foods: Unless you have an allergy or intolerance, you should not ban anything from your diet. You will be more tempted to eat a lot if it is banned. If you at a coffee shop and your friend orders a big sweet muffin, get one too. So long as you don’t have a muffin every day, you will not put on loads of weight or get ill. You can have small proportions of cakes, muffins, cookies, honey or any other dessert at the end of a healthy meal.
4) Avoid consuming Sugar : Keeping your energy levels even is important so try to cut down on the amount of sweet foods you eat. Opt instead for a high protein snack or some fruit. But remember, the rare muffin does no harm.
5) Drink sufficient water : When it comes to your health, water is important. You should drink a steady supply of water throughout the day, every day. Cut down on the amount of fizzy drinks and fruit juice that you consume.
6) Cut Down Your Fat Intake: Avoid eating high fat food such as butter, margarine, potato chips, fried food and junk food. They have high amount of fats and are not considered healthy for your heart. But there are some good fats like those in nuts or oily fish which should be eaten.
