If you have any thoughts that you may have an issue with a yeast Infection or Candida Albicans, doing the easy Candida Spit Test might give you a better indication.

The source of this test is unknown but it has been around a long time. The reliability of it is an open argument, however taking the test is easy and non intrusive. There is no harm in taking the test as a precursor to going to see your doctor.

The Candida Spit Test is carried out as per these instructions;

Get a see through glass, top it up with water and put it near your bed or in the bath room so that you remember to do the test the very first thing you do in the morning.

When you wake in the morning, work up a bit of saliva and spit into the glass of water.

This must be done 1st thing. If you brush your teeth, eat or drink, the results will be no good.

Don’t even kiss your partner! I am certain they can wait for a minute or 2.

Immediately make note of how the saliva looks.

Once you have sorted out that good morning kiss you should re assess the appearance of your spit.

Check your Candida Spit Test every 15 minutes until you leave for the day.

In a perfect world you would take note of the results of your Candida Spit test over a 60 minute time frame. Any less than 1/2 an hour will not be worthwhile doing it.

If your saliva floats for some time and gradually is dissolved without any apparent clouding of the water, that is a sign of healthy spit.

It is very usual to see some foam and or bubbles.

Candida saliva will have one or more characteristics that point to a Candida albicans overgrowth:

Strings traveling down to the bottom of the glass.

Your saliva may drop to the bottom and or develop a cloudiness.

You may observe a cloudy type of speck hanging in the water.

It may be that you observe all of the above. This is a strong indication of candida particularly if it happens quickly.

If your candida spit test gives you an indication that you in fact are likely to have a yeast infection, I suggest you firstly starting taking a look at your diet, this is often where the problem begins.

The food types that typically contribute are, Dairy, Breads and grains, and fruits and juices that have high sugar content.

Some other foods that may also cause a problem are, Vinegar, Mushrooms, processed foods, coffee and tea and dried, processed or pickled meats.

In different circumstances, pregnancy, long term smoking, and diabetes are responsible for the onset of a yeast overgrowth.

Of course you should also make an appointment with your doctor to discuss your concerns. Your Candida Spit Test is just a preliminary test. They are in the best position to make a thorough examination to find out where you are at.
