Spent your whole life struggling with weight loss? Spent years going from quick weight loss plan to quick weight loss plan? You are just like me, then. I’ve tried all of the plans out there. Whether it was the Atkins diet, the South Beach diet, or any other “easy” diet plan, I’ve done all the research. I know a little bit about the topic as a result. The experts would say I have a bit of a weight problem. That is to say, I’ve lost weight, then gained it back, then rinsed and repeated more times than I care to admit.
I also love food and hate having to starve myself when I see a picture of myself during the holidays and rush to start another new fast weight loss plan. So, needless to say, I have some personal experience with a lot of the so-called “expert” easy diet plans out there on the market.
When I was searching for the right diet for me I hated encountering all of these plans with outrageous claims and even more outrageous before and after photos from their testimonials. I mean, come on! I was struggling to lose 10 lbs in 45 days, so I did not much buy their claims and their photos. I have tried some products that have worked, but were not right for me in the long haul. I needed a solution that not only would help me lose the weight quick, but keep it off and show me foods I can eat that are good for me and that I enjoyed enough and filled me enough so I was not craving that 3pm donut!
We’ve all seen the plethora of diet programs, websites, and DVDs that all claim to have the best solution. The thing I learned from my exploration is that a diet alone will not help you. A diet is something you can put away when you don’t want it, then come back to. True weight management comes from a lifestyle change. It’s easy to see that once you get off of a diet, any weight loss you achieved during the diet phase is likely to get reversed within the weeks and months following abandonment of the diet.
Instead of simple dieting, I’ve decided to follow and advocate programs that promote a healthy lifestyle.
