Another thing to consider is the difference in the physique. A person who has lost weight by taking supplements looks strikingly different from someone who has trimmed down by dieting and exercising. The former looks thin and flabby while the latter looks lean and firm. Take note however, that muscle is heavier than fat thus a lean person can actually weigh more than a fat person of about the same height.

Lastly is the issue of safety. There are some weight loss supplements that contain ingredients that cause side-effects which can range from mild to severe to sometimes even death. Also, not all natural ingredients are safe. The extract from the Chinese herb Ma Huang, commercially known as Ephedra and Ephedrine, is highly dangerous. In fact, this ingredient was banned by the FDA for a year due to reported cases of heart attack, stroke and death associated with it.

If you want fast results, weight loss supplements work well but remember that this type of weight loss is not permanent. If you want quality and sustainable weight loss, the combination of diet and exercise is the way to go. Anything worthwhile does not come easy and this includes being healthy and fit. It is not good to lose weight by compromising your health as your body will have to pay for it sooner or later. As far as we are concerned, losing weight by changing your lifestyle is really the best option available especially if really care about your health.
